GHRP-2 vs GHRP-6 — comparing growth hormone releasing peptides head to head

So I’ve been researching growth hormone peptides for a few months now and keep going back and forth between GHRP-2 and GHRP-6. My doc mentioned both as options but left the choice up to me which honestly just made it harder lol. From what I understand, GHRP-6 gives stronger GH pulses but comes with way more hunger sides, while GHRP-2 is a bit cleaner but maybe not quite as potent? I’m mainly looking for recovery benefits and some body comp improvements (41M, been lifting for years but recovery is getting rough). The hunger thing with GHRP-6 actually concerns me because I’m already struggling to keep my calories in check. Has anyone here actually tried both and can share their real world experience? I’ve read all the studies and technical breakdowns but I want to hear from actual people who’ve pinned these. Did you notice a significant difference in results? Were the hunger sides with GHRP-6 manageable or absolutely brutal? And did GHRP-2 actually work well enough or did you end up wishing you’d gone with the 6? Would really appreciate any insights before I commit to ordering one or the other.

  1. I ran GHRP-6 for about 4 months last year and the hunger was no joke. Like within 20 minutes of pinning I’d want to eat everything in sight. If you already have trouble controlling calories I’d honestly steer you toward the GHRP-2. The results with 6 were good don’t get me wrong, sleep improved and recovery was noticeably better, but I ended up gaining some unwanted fat because I couldn’t resist the cravings. Switched to a different protocol eventually but yeah, that side effect is real and it doesn’t really diminish over time in my experience.

  2. GHRP-2 user here, been on it for 6 weeks now. I actually chose it specifically because of what VitalitySeeker mentioned about the hunger. I’m doing 100mcg 3x daily and honestly feeling great. Recovery is definitely improved, sleep quality is better, and I haven’t had any significant hunger spikes. My doc said the GH release might be slightly less than GHRP-6 but for me the trade-off is worth it. I’m 39M and mostly care about tendon health and sleep anyway, not trying to bulk or anything. Can’t compare directly since I never tried the 6 though.

  3. The hunger difference is real but it really depends on your goals tbh. If you’re trying to add mass and don’t mind eating more, GHRP-6 could actually be a benefit not a drawback. But for cutting or recomp, GHRP-2 is definitely the move. I read somewhere that GHRP-6 also has some ghrelin mimetic effects beyond just GH release which explains the appetite stimulation. One thing nobody mentioned yet is that some people get better skin and hair benefits from GHRP-6, though that could just be anecdotal. Either way you’ll probably want to stack with a GHRH like mod-grf for best results regardless of which one you pick.

  4. I’ve used both at different times. GHRP-2 gave me everything I needed without the chaos of constant hunger. The difference in GH pulses between the two isn’t as dramatic as some people make it out to be imo, especially if you’re dosing properly and timing it right (empty stomach, away from fats/carbs). Like mikej said, stacking with CJC no DAC made a huge difference for me. Started seeing better sleep within days and recovery improvements by week 2-3. I’m 44 and wish I’d started peptides years ago honestly. Just make sure you’re working with someone who knows what they’re doing for dosing and timing.
