BPC-157 healed my tendinitis after 8 months of failed physical therapy. Placebo or real?
So I’ve been dealing with really bad elbow tendinitis for almost a year now. Tried everything – PT twice a week, NSAIDs, rest, ice, compression sleeves, you name it. My physio was stumped and basically told me we might be looking at a cortisone shot or even surgery consultation if things didn’t improve.
A friend who’s into peptides mentioned BPC-157 and I was super skeptical honestly. I’ve always been more of a traditional medicine person but I was desperate. Started injecting subcutaneously near the affected area, 250mcg twice daily for 4 weeks.
By week 2 I noticed I could grip things without wincing. By week 3 I was back at the gym doing light weights. Now at week 5 the pain is maybe 10% of what it was and I’m almost back to my normal routine.
My question is… is this actually the BPC working or could this just be coincidental timing? Like maybe my body was already healing and this just happened to overlap? I want to believe it worked because the improvement was dramatic but I’m also aware of placebo effect. Anyone else have experience with BPC for tendon issues? I’m curious if my experience is typical or if I just got lucky with timing.
There’s actually quite a bit of research on BPC-157 and tendon healing, though most of it is animal studies tbh. The mechanism seems to involve promoting angiogenesis and collagen formation which are both critical for tendon repair. That said, 8 months is also right around the timeframe where chronic tendinitis can sometimes resolve on its own, so it’s genuinely hard to say. The fact that you noticed improvement at week 2-3 is interesting though because that’s when a lot of people report benefits. I used it for a shoulder issue last year and had similar results but I can’t say with 100% certainty it wasn’t placebo. Either way if you’re feeling better that’s what matters
I’m gonna add another perspective here – I tried BPC for golfer’s elbow about 6 months ago and honestly didn’t notice much difference. Did the same protocol as you, 250mcg 2x daily for about 3 weeks before I gave up. What DID finally help me was when my sports med doc suggested eccentric exercises specifically for tendinitis. Not saying BPC doesn’t work but peptide_researcher is right that timing could be a factor. Also where did you source yours? I sometimes wonder if the quality varies a lot between suppliers and maybe mine was underdosed or degraded. Glad you’re feeling better regardless of the reason though!
